On Saturday, May 2, 2026, the Daara Halaybe High School experienced a morning filled with pride and emotion. The NGO H&D organized its very first Excellence Day, an award ceremony dedicated to presenting school kits to the institution's thirty-four top-performing students, in the presence of local administrative, religious, community, and educational authorities.

Sponsored by Mr. Thiam—a former primary school principal whose lifelong career in service of rural education is unanimously praised throughout the region—the ceremony brought together the Sub-Prefect, the Mayor’s representative, the representative from the Inspectorate of Education and Training (IEF), the High School Principal, the Village Chief, and representatives from the Maraboutic family, parents, and the teaching staff. The presence of the Sheikh, whose blessings concluded the speeches, brought a spiritual and community dimension that characterizes major occasions in this region.

An Action Rooted in Deep Conviction

For H&D, this day was far more than a simple distribution of school supplies. It stems from a core conviction that the organization has championed since its inception: merit must not remain invisible.
